Company Description:
Kameleon Technologies is based in both Paris and Cambridge. It was incorporated in 2002 to develop products and services related to Bluetooth mobile applications. Kameleon’s innovation has been rewarded by six different prizes; including the 2002 Contest of Innovating Technologies. In 2004, the company implemented a series of successful tests in Europe and is now expanding services to the US market.
Products: BLUESPOT & BLUESPOT MEMORY
Equipped with a Kameleon BlueSpot, any object can communicate wirelessly with a standard mobile phone user (or a PDA user) using the Kameleon version (innovative and improved) of Bluetooth. Users can detect objects equipped with the Kameleon BlueSpot from their mobile phones and catch in “one click,” the associated information automatically, intuitively and instantaneously. For example, anyone will be able to watch the multimedia content associated with a billboard, a merchandise display, or a work in a museum. Kameleon will provide relevant information to the on-the-go mobile users where and when they need it. Kameleon makes your environment interactive.
Market Opportunity:
We have three major target markets: outdoor advertising, retail and dedicated environments. Kameleon extends the reach of outdoor companies as they offer multimedia interactivity in addition to their static billboards. Kameleon addresses retail chains and dedicated environments like trade shows by enhancing product information and promotional activities. In a city the size of Paris, the total market for this type of advertising ranges from 3 to 5B a year. Kameleon expects worldwide revenue exceeding 100m by 2009.
